"Mix Ups!"

Another fantastic idea, that I can’t really take full credit for.  My sister (sissy) started making these for B1 as a treat & he LOVES them, sissy’s normally consist of healthy & not so healthy foods…..!!! This is the healthy version.  My kids love it and its a great way to get them eating lots of healthy foods from different food groups…it’s basically a kids mini-smorgasbord.  On this occasion we have roast pork, chicken schnitzel (home-made), cheese, carrot, cucumber, cheese & pita bread (with some vegemite on it). And you can see the end result!

Bok choy salad

Wanted to share one of my favourite salads.  I can’t take the credit for it, I stole it from my beautiful friend Nicole….whenever we get together I insist that she makes it, it’s absolutely delicious so I wanted to share…..enjoy!

For the love of coffee

I love coffee. I really love coffee.  I have my B2 (2nd child) to thank for my love/obsession with coffee.  Before her I was a very occasional coffee drinker, a weak skinny latte was all I could manage….with 2 very large sugars.  But since B2 came along I can’t get through the day without at least one espresso, unfortunately instant just doesn’t cut it these days.  I’ve gone from weak to full strength and I’ll order the biggest coffee I can get my hands on!  Now I find myself driving a particular way home, just so I drive past the “good coffee place”.  Oh and that’s the other thing, it has to be GOOD coffee, I’m now fussy, very fussy in fact, I’ve been known to drive 30 mins to “the best coffee in Melbourne” to get my fix.  I guess it’s lucky I’m a stay at home mum who “doesn’t do a lot” so I have the opportunity to drive so far, just for a coffee…..!!!  On the weekend we decided to take the kids to play mini golf, I proved you can play mini golf one-handed (with coffee in the other hand of course!!).  I also discovered today that I can play backyard footy with B1, all the while classily balancing that delightful take away cup of cafe latte in one hand! So B2, thank you for your wild behaviour that has unlocked my inner-coffee-aholic-ness… Short black x 10 + the shakes anyone???

You can learn many things from children. How much patience you have, for instance.

A bit about me…

I have no idea why I started this blog…. I’m always complaining about how little time I have to do everything….. But here I am, committing myself to typing away day after day (well that’s my own self-imposed commitment, I am one of those people who needs to always be busy).

This blog will mainly be about things closest to me heart, firstly my family, namely my children, so a bit of pre-warning, lots of kid talk! And secondly my next biggest passion……………FOOD! Hmm wrote that in capitals, have to admit, I’m obsessed!

I’m hoping to show an honest & realistic but hopefully entertaining glimpse into the life of a stay at home mum!

So a bit about me, I’m a SAHM of two (Stay At Home Mum – found that online!), happily married…most of the time!!!! I live in Melbourne but my hometown is Wagga Wagga in NSW.  Although I love Melbourne and see myself here for life, Wagga is still and always will be home.  I get back there whenever I can to see my family and I always feel a sense of contentment when I’m there.

My life currently consists of looking after my babies, J 4 & G almost 2, looking after my house, looking after my husband (sort of), kinder & occasional care committees, a little bit of paid work & of course a bit of socialising.

You know I’ve just realised why people love blogging, you get to talk about yourself, non-stop, without having to listen to anyone else.  Hmmm narcissism anyone…!!!

Anyways, thanks for stopping by to read this, hopefully you’ll stay and read along for a while, I’ll do my best to keep you entertained.
